A species with a story as compelling as its pitchers, N. khasiana holds the remarkable distinction of being the only Nepenthes native to India — and one of the most cold-tolerant in the entire genus, making it a surprisingly adaptable grower for South African conditions. It produces elegant, elongated pitchers in pale green with rich red blushing around the mouth and a broad, neatly ribbed peristome that gives each pitcher a refined, architectural quality. Notably, the species is thought to attract prey through blue fluorescence — a rare and fascinating trait that sets it apart from virtually everything else in cultivation.
Nepenthes khasiana is generally considered an intermediate tropical pitcher plant, for detailed care instructions, including watering, lighting, humidity, feeding, and potting, see our Tropical Pitcher Plant Care Guide.
These are smallish to medium, well-established plants.
