Drosera capensis "typical" is a striking carnivorous plant native to the Cape region of South Africa, renowned for its ability to lure, capture, and digest small insects. This plant features long, slender leaves that radiate from a central rosette, each adorned with tentacle-like structures covered in sticky glandular hairs. These hairs produce a glistening, dew-like mucilage that entraps unsuspecting prey. The leaves are bright green with a hint of red or pink, especially in bright light. As insects are ensnared, the leaves slowly curl around them to commence digestion. Drosera capensis also boasts small, pink flowers that bloom on tall, slender stalks, adding to its unique aesthetic appeal.
